Documentation shall be available throughout the contract period for chicken and turkey raw material, showing that the raw material has been produced taking into account preventive health parameters for animal welfare that include as a minimum:
- Control of foot health and measures to minimise the occurrence of foot injuries.
- Stocking density of max. 36 kg/ m2 for chicken.
- A maximum stocking density of 40 kg/m2 for turkeys weighing less than 7 kg and 45 kg/m2 for turkeys weighing 7 kg or more.
- Procedures and measures according to control programmes that minimise Campylobacter and all salmonella serotypes when rearing the animals.
- Cleaning between batches of animals.
The health parameters shall be systematically monitored, causes such as foot injuries or infections shall be analysed, and deviations shall be documented and lead to appropriate action in consultation with a veterinarian or production advisor in order to remedy the problems.
